Yes to Coconut

Last year, I ordered some Yes to Coconut Wipes from Birchbox and as luck would have it, I received a defective package. As with all my grievances, I took to twitter and Yes to Carrots quickly responded…which I truly appreciate! Shows they care about their customers and have fantastic customer service, unlike many companies out there these days.

Earlier this year a package arrived at my door with three products from the Yes to Coconut collection. I was thrilled, as I absolutely love the scent of coconut. The Honolulu Sun from Bath and Body Works is absolutely my favorite scent from any of their collections, if that gives you an idea of my coconut obsession. Still haven’t tried the Coconut Wipes but I throughly enjoyed trying these three new products.

The first product I tried was the Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Melting Cleanser. I love trying out new cleansers and this one can be used one of two ways. First without any water and second with water. I tried both ways and neither way was a winner for me. The consistency is like Vaseline without water and melts away quickly with water. It is also not intended to be used near your eyes, which is another point knocked off for me, as I always wear eye makeup.

Next I tried the Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Facial Mask. It applies more like a soft lotion or creme that doesn’t rub in. Initially I used this mask back in February and it definitely hydrated my dry, winter skin. The consistency is very thick and best of all it doesn’t get dry or crackly like most face masks. For dry skin the coconut and avocado oils in this mask are great sources for hydration, but do be aware it also contains glycerin, which can cause breakouts in some skin types.

Last but not least is the Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm. I started using this at night around my eyes and found that I’m really fond of this product. Pretty sure I use way too much as I love, love, love the scent of this eye balm. It only takes one squirt to sufficiently cover both eyes but I usually opt for two squirts. It makes the skin around my eyes much softer. The next day when I apply concealer, I do notice less creasing throughout the day.

The Ultra Hydrating Overnight Eye Balm absorbs very quickly (almost too quickly) and it doesn’t leave a oily or greasy residue behind. This Yes to Coconut Eye Balm has become one of my favorite nightly products over the last few weeks in combination with my Dr. Brandt Vitamin Doses. Best of all, the price tag is only $15.99 and is available at Ulta.
