At the beginning of the month I was invited to a special event here in Atlanta at the Perimeter Mall Aveda store. As I’ve mentioned before I never know what to except when I’m invited to event and I’m always a bit nervous beforehand, but this event was conveniently in my neighborhood and I absolutely love Aveda, so there was no way I was going to miss this one.

When I walked in, I was instantly greeted by the Senior District Manager, Maryanne. Maryanne made me feel instantly welcomed and quickly introduced me to another girl, Natasha who gave me a “Moment of Wellness” massage. This included an introduction to several of Aveda’s relaxation lotions and oils. I picked my favorite out of the three combinations and was given a neck and hand massage. “Stress-Fix” end up being my favorite, which has my favorite scent, lavender in it.

After the “Moment of Wellness” I was introduced to a girl named Sasha who is a colorist at the Aveda Salon, Joseph & Friends. Sasha sat with me for about fifteen minutes and explained how Aveda’s hair coloring system works and that basically everyone can have a custom color depending on how the formula is made. I’ve had my hair colored many times over the years with Aveda products and I’ve never had an issue with the color drying out my hair or fading.

The next stop in the event was to go sit and get a hair consultation with Ricardo Dinis. Ricardo is an international, top level Creative Director with Aveda. The first thing he says to me is, “Your hair is extensions, right?” With a huge grin on my face, I reply, “Nope!” Still in shock, he says, “You have amazing hair!” I smile and say, “Thank you!” He showed me a few haircut styles that he thought would suit the frame of my face better than my current hair style, but unfortunately he wasn’t taking appointments here in Atlanta as I absolutely loved the styles he showed me. My biggest complaint with my current cut is it looks like doo-doo when it’s straight. It looks fine if I curl it with a curling iron, but when it’s straight there’s no flow…my layers are all over the place. Next time I am in New York City you can bet I will be calling Ricardo to get a haircut!

Following the hair consultation I had the pleasure of getting my make-up done by a girl named Alex from Van Michael Salon (one of my favorite salons in Atlanta). I’ll be honest, I usually don’t like getting my make-up done by someone else cause most of time I think I end up looking a little batty. But I happened to be the last one coming through and Alex still took her time and introduced me to several products that I fell in love with and ended up buying. Alex is an amazing make-up artist and she taught me several valuable make-up tips.

Lastly my Aveda “event guides”, Ary & Natasha lined up all the products that I was introduced to at the event. Products included everything from make-up, skincare and haircare. Next Sunday I will reveal and review which Aveda products I purchased at the event. Make sure to come back and check that out. Which products are your favorite from Aveda?
