{ Now Back to Regular Programming }

Wanted to give my readers an update, since there haven’t been many reviews in the past year. First and foremost, I have switched domain names, from blog.alelizabeth.com to beautyblogger.reviews, along with switching from blogger over to wordpress. I tried to make the platform switch once before and had so many problems that I gave up and went back to blogger. But with the domain name change I was determined that I was going to make wordpress work for me. The official launch of beautyblogger.reviews was on December 1st, 2014 and I’m now finally happy I made the switch to wordpress. If you had asked me last month, I still wasn’t sure if I was happy with wordpress. Though my traffic has significantly decreased I have gained insightful knowledge about my readers.

After spending six months of backend work and getting ready for the site launch it was hacked in the middle of January. Ugh. Three years on blogger…never hacked. A little over one month on wordpress and it was hacked. I ended up having to hire a company to remove the malicious malware and spam injection links that were appearing within my site and RSS feed.

Speaking of my RSS feed…that was another issue! Honestly I never gave it much thought on blogger, but when I switched I wanted to make sure all my GFC could still see updated posts. I started with Feedburner but then decided that Feedblitz gave me more options, but after my monthly bill went from $1.49 to $4.95 in one month to $9.95 the next, I decided to switch my RSS emails to MailChimp and only use Feedblitz for my RSS feed burner. Then at the beginning of March I moved over to FeedPress as it’s $30 for six months and the interface is much more user friendly than Feedblitz. Google Reader, Bloglovin and Feedly are all picking up the new feed but the images sporadically come through, especially on Google Reader. As you can tell, it’s been one website bug after another. Even though it doesn’t look like I’ve been doing much on the blog, I actually have been working non-stop on it, just on the backend.

Of course if you have any suggestions on what you would like to see, post or video suggestions, collaborations, blog hops, product reviews, etc. I would love for you to get in touch. I’d also like to thank all of my loyal readers for being such great friends! xo
