A representative from Talented Talkers recently offered to let me try a variety of nail polish shades from The Body Shop‘s new nail polish collection, “Colour Crush“. Though I’m not a nail artist I know the majority of my readers love nails, so I figured I could at least take some pictures, swatch the colors and let you know my thoughts and feedback. As anyone knows by skimming this blog, I’m not much of a nail connoisseur. I know some polishes are thick and take a hell of a long time to dry, some chip within a day and the glitter ones are almost impossible to completely remove.

Once I knew I was going to receive a few items from The Body Shop I decided to pop by the Perimeter Mall and check out the full line in all of it’s shinning glory! The manager, Heather quickly came over, introduced herself and encouraged me to play around with the polishes while expressing her enthusiasm for the polish line. Seeing her excitement, made me more excited for my polishes to arrive in the mail, especially not knowing what colors I was going to receive. I love surprises!

I never do my own nails as I swear it looks like a kindergartner did my nails when I attempt to paint them myself. With that said I’ve only had time once to go get my nails done since I received this collection. But the lady doing my nails absolutely loved the polish, not only did she comment on how easy it was to put on but also how pretty the finish was. I also prefer to bring my own bottle/s of polish when I get a mani/pedi for sanitary reasons. Several years ago, I did a campaign with a few doctors, where I learned that even though it’s rare fungus and bacteria can be found in nail polish and/or the polish brush in addition to the foot tubs, tools, etc. I just prefer to bring my own polish and not share my color with strangers.

The first thing I noticed when swatching the Colour Crush Nail Polish was how smooth the polish glides on without air bubbles. The polish has a thin – medium consistency and I prefer two coats for a vivid, rich shade. The polish dries very quickly, which I absolutely love, because I’m so impatient when it comes to waiting on nail polish to dry.  One reason why I would never make it as a nail artist…all my designs would be smeared! It never fails, I always have an indent or bump on at least one nail before I walk out the salon door, but with this polish I didn’t have any indents nor did I have sock imprints on my toenails, as it was cold outside and I didn’t want to walk outside in the flimsy foam pedi flip flops.

The Body Shop, Colour Crush collection offers a wide variety of colors, 24 to be exact!  The line is 100% vegan and is enriched with Community Fair Trade marula oil, which gives the polish a high gloss finish. Each bottle contains 0.22 fluid ounces of product for only $8.00! The Body Shop also makes a Nail Pen that is available for a few dollars, which is the first nail pen I have ever tried. I’ve watched YouTube channels that say use the top of a push pin or an eraser or a bobby pen. I’ve tried all those but the nail pen is definitely easier to use as I had more control over the point of impact than a push pin. The flowers were so simple to do with two different circle diameters.
