Along with my package from Image Beauty Discount Center that I talked about in yesterday’s post was a surprise bag filled with skincare samples. I was totally not expecting these goodies and since I’ve started turning down skincare offers, I was a bit hesitant to try them. I have two reasons I’ve started turning skincare offers down. First, fortunately I was blessed with good skin and I have found I don’t like trying a bunch of new skin products or routines on my face. As if the balance does get messed up, then I will need products to start correcting problems. But being over thirty and still getting carded to play the lottery (18+) feels pretty darn good…they always reply “You look so young!!” :) Second, having good skin doesn’t produce very good before and after shots, so for blog viewing and demonstration purposes, my face doesn’t work very well.

The first product I tried was the Crema Straordinaria Sapone Foaming Cleanser and now after trying the other skincare samples, the cleanser is by far my favorite. I currently use a foaming cleanser in my daily routine, but I must say I like the smell and the feel of this one better than the one I currently use. It has small shavings of what looks to be orange peels and has a very “spa-like” fragrance. All of their skincare products have the “spa-like” fragrance, meaning a clean, fresh scent…not fruity or musty.

Another fear of skincare products stems from middle school, when I thought I’d be cool and rub Noxzema on my face the night before school pictures. Only to find out I’m completely allergic to Noxzema, so masks and things to leave on my face still scare me a bit, as I’m scared I’m going to wake up again the next day with my eyes swollen shut. With that said, the next product I tried was the Fango Ferma Firming Mud Mask for Face and Body. The mask is purple and goes on and comes off very easily. I could definitely feel my face tightening about four minutes after I applied it and then rinsed it off with warm water about seven minutes after I applied it. Borghese Beauty offers a variety of masks to choose from. I’d definitely be interested in trying other masks to see if I could feel or see a difference in between them, as I didn’t wake up the next day with an allergic reaction.

Loving the mud mask!

After trying the first two skincare products, I really wasn’t as hesitant to try the others, the Crema Straordinaria Tonico Balancing Softening Toner and the Crema Straordinaria Da Giorno Day Treatment SPF 25. The toner had the best “spa” fragrance out of all the products. It comes in a pump-spray to apply to a cotton ball and then swipe across your skin. It was smooth going on my skin and left my skin feeling lightly dewy. I then applied the day treatment, which is a moisturizer. It’s a thick, soft moisturizer, that does feel a bit heavy when you first apply it, but it absorbs into your skin after a few minutes, leaving it feeling soft. Below you can macro shots of a few of these products. You can especially notice the orange pieces in the cleanser and thickness of the moisturizer.

In addition to the mascara from yesterday’s postImage Beauty Discount Center was sweet enough to surprise me with another make-up product from Borghese Beauty, which was the Labbro Più Paffuto Tinted Lip Plumper in Rosa Naturale. It’s a very shinny, opaque gloss when applied to lips, but I absolutely love the shade that was sent to me. The gloss does contain a no-sting plump, which is nice on sensitive lips. Below is a color swatch and I’ll post a picture on Instagram (@alElizabeth) wearing it soon.
